Over the centuries, historians have already documented men and women wearing the famous hoodie. Hood is said to be coined from “hod” which is an Anglo-Saxon word. If you trace back history, you will notice that the hoodie has become a trademark for most people in the medieval era. The normal clothing of monks then had hoods attached to their robes. Even the famous Robinhood is often depicted wearing the hood. As early as the 12th century, the presence of the hood has become apparent in England. The hooded sweatshirt came into the US soil in the early 1930s.

In the 1990s, the hoodie has evolved to become a statement of fashion and academic spirit, and a symbol of isolation. The youths especially use the hoodie when they are surfing or skateboarding. This adds a cool factor to the use.

Those who took part in the campaign wore hoodies and stood on the country’s parliament. Politicians, different political parties including the Maori party representatives wore the hoodie.

The prime minister during that time supported the shopping center’s campaign. It was during those times that England faced high crime rates associated with men or women wearing the hoodies.
